    An Ironman's Journey

    Hey everyone,

I now have an official website with our first trailer for the documentary "An Ironman's Journey" on the home page! I am pretty pumped about how everything is coming together. This trailer is the first of many videos to come. My plan is to do one video post a week and I will be blogging, tweeting, and using instagram to keep everyone up to date with how my training and Headstrong Adventures is coming along. I would love to have all of you along for the journey. Its going to be a fun one!

I really enjoyed the site Joe. I've always been wandered if there was a mechanical "sweating" system out there for quad athletes. I was thinking maybe just a water bladder with some hosing running up to your bike helmet. I'm sure there are some very small pumps out there....maybe have the pump set on a timer depending on the heat?

I really admire people like you that can push themselves to their limits. It gives myself motivation to push myself to.

I really enjoyed your site and will use it to motivate myself. Keep up the good work. We need more people like you to push us. Thanks!

Thanks everyone for the very kind words. Myles there is a system like that. James at quad grips makes them but I have yet to try it out yet. Ill let you know how it works as soon as I do. For now here is a video that shows how I am planning to swim for the Ironman. Enjoy!

Hey everyone, thanks for all the support. Sorry I haven’t posted more than I have. We now have a facebook page for An Ironman’s Journey. We will be posting a lot of behind the scenes information. Here is the link to check it out. If you have a moment please Like and Share this.

Also I had a great chance to share my story at a Montana high school. We filmed my presentation and turned it into a 12 part series. If you would like to learn about my story check out Wings to Wheels episode 1. I will be releasing two a week!

On the training side of things everything is going great. I think I finally have all my gear set up. That has been quite the process. Especially the racing chair. That one has proven to be the most challenging all around. That includes simply pushing it. It is truly amazing how time consuming Ironman training is. Not just the workouts but also all the preparation involved. There seems to be a science and balance to everything and I’ll admit that I am enjoying dialing in on all of it. I will have a blog post very soon that will go into more details on where I am at with training. Thanks again everyone!

I know a lot of you completely understand what a hand cycle is all about. Most of you probably know more than me but we put this little video together to explain to those that don't know what a hand cycle is. Either way I hope you enjoy what we are doing to spread the word about adaptive sports. Enjoy!

Very cool. I have thought about hand cycling but haven't for two reasons. I don't think I could get myself out of it and back into my chair and second, I couldn't stop anywhere to empty my leg bag. What do you people do during a marathon about that situation?
