    Intrathecal pain pump questions

I'm now considering a pain pump and wanted to know if that could help with central pain or if it's just for somatic pain? What is the process to go through for insurance and does it require surgery? Are there pre requisites before getting it installed?

I started a thread about a pain/baclofen pump a long time ago. There is all sorts of information there. You do need have surgery to get it put in, it has helped with central pain and it does have to be replaced every four or five years.. Check it out http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/showthread.php?t=100217.

Make the best out of today because yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never come. Nobody knows that better than those of us that have almost died from spinal cord injury.

Thanks. Sorry, I remember seeing that sticky now but couldn't find it for the life of me earlier.
