Thread: cost per square foot to build

  1. #11
When buying residential lots in a development with public water and sewer, does it cost that much to get utilities hooked up? I'd like to buy a nice flat lot with no trees to remove. If i don't excavate a basement, site work and permits and utilities wouldn't be too bad would they?

Oh and Joe... do you have any vaulted ceilings in your ranch? I'd really like a vaulted family room... shouldn't bust my budget should it?

the house I'm currently building should hit about 125 sq/ft without land cost. materials are upper-mid to high

Kspell would it be possible for you to email me a copy of the floor plan that you're using? That would be awesome! If not that's ok!

    Bret,
I sent a copy of my floor plans. Vaulted ceilings are nice but can get expensive depending on the size. It makes a difference if the builder can use a pre-made truss system for the dormers or if he has to hand build them for your ceiling design. a lot of variables to look at.

    Accessible homes

Tarentella, I've been a quad since 5/12/56 and I've been designing and building since 1959. I have design samples to send if you e-mail me at wdutche1@tampabay.rr.com I don't charge for my designs but they're not construction plans. I worked with an architect who's website is www.universaldesignsonline.com I hope you'll contact me.
