Can weight loss effect my hardware?

In the last 6-8 months I have lost a lot of weight. 64 pounds so far. I am about 30-40 pounds less than when I had my injury. I have recently started to feel my hardware. It is uncomfortable and painful at times. It has been 10 years since my hardware was put in and I am wondering if with my weight loss something has changed or shifted? Anyone know if the weight loss would effect my hardware at all. I have rods and screws from t-12 to L2 along with vertabre that was rebuilt with a piece of femur and my rib.

I doubt that weight loss would cause a problem. If hardware is at the crux of the problem, it may have loosened or even broke. If it were me, I would have the orthopedic surgeon check it out asap.

Plain film xrays can look at the stability of the rods
