    Digestive Enzymes

Not sure if the FOOD FORUM is the right place to post supplement or nutrition posts. If not, tell me where to go. For me, I'm searching for foods and the perfect diet to keep my digestive system working at an optimum; foods that give me vitality; that keep me slim and are easy to buy and prepare as a quadriplegic.

Does anybody have experience/knowledge about DIGESTIVE ENZYMES?

My acupuncturist prescribed pharmacy grade enzymes to me. They worked for me when nothing else did. I also received acupuncture needle treatments for two months. It's been a month since treatments and now my bloating and belching have returned even though I continued to take the enzymes.

Yesterday, I tried a stronger one with pancreatic enzymes and hCL. My stomach was flat.

I had been suffering with severe bloating and excessive constant belching. In addition to two years of pursuing specialists and trying several diets, I had been hospitalized because my digestive issues were causing dangerous fluctuations in blood pressure (code blue lows and AD temple pulsing blood vessels high).

He prescribed two different products. At first, the Panplex was too aggressive so I switched to SIMILASE. But I'm back on Panplex because the symptoms returned with SIMILASE.

I'd love to hear from someone knowledgable about enzymes.

Here's the product info if anybody cares.

Not definitively. When I reread the radiologist report of the CT scan, he stated "probable gasteroparesis due to a spinal cord injury".

When I read the side affects of Reglan, the drug prescribed to me, I decided going to my best resource, CareCure forums, was necessary before ingesting some drug that can cause tics and lactating. As always, the advice and archive of posts on this site are unparalleled!

My research has left me suspicious of the diagnosis and I'd like to exhaust natural remedies before taking a drug I may or may not need.

I also am scheduling a more conclusive study for gasteroparesis at Cedar Sinai.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

By the way, why did you start taking enzymes? What symptoms have the helped relieve?

i'm a lactard and it just helps overall with digesting better. no specific symptom lead to it. just sometimes you gotta prime the pump.
