Me neither. In fact I was at the Brownsville Country Music Festival this summer with my best friend, her mom, and my husband Dan. I got my first real test of just how comfortable the cushion is when I had to sit in it for nine hours straight. That's the longest I've ever had to sit in my power chair. And compared to the gel, and foam cushions I've had. I wasn't in any pain with the Stimulite cushion more than I was in pain with the gel, and foam wheelchair cushions.

I love the extra soft version of the cushion because I have a couple of bony areas on my back, and bottom. Sitting on it doesn't make it seem as hard as cushions usually are.

I love it too. I can sit in my power chair for longer periods of time. About 10 hours per day when I'm out and about, and not be in so much pain. That's a lot more than the amount of time I was sitting in it when I had the gel cushion in it. I can get out of my wheelchair when I need to. But, it's wonderful having such a great wheelchair cushion that has worked so well for me. I do hope that because my manual wheelchair has a smaller seat length than in my power wheelchair. That I can fit the new Stimulite cushion in my washer when I need to wash it. We shall see.

Thanks WC, I think my DME is getting it direct from Supracor as my insurance approved reimbursement. Two week turn around would be nice.
I have had periodic paralysis all my life. I lost my ability to walk in 2011 beginning with a spinal block, which was used for a hip fracture caused by periodic paralysis.

On a hot day the honeycomb can just be hosed off and left out to dry. I know it says washer and dryer, but not me. It's the cover on my old one that is falling apart. Be gentle with the *plastic* zipper.

What does "flat or sling bottom" mean? http://www.supracor.com/products/show/108
See right side list second to last bullet point. I don't know what has been ordered or even what type I have other than it's on a wheelchair.

Sling bottoms are the standard upholstery on 'chairs ... flat bottom I presume to be the carbon fiber (solid) seat pans one can order on some chairs.
Roses are red. Tacos are enjoyable. Don't blame immigrants, because you're unemployable.

You make sense. What doesn't make sense is that sling cost more. And now that I look at the price list and order code, I know they ordered flat for my standard soggy bottom wheelchair.

Sling bottom cushion is contoured. Flat bottomed is flat. Nothing to do with carbon fiber. Some users seem to prefer using the flat bottom cushion on a strapped [sling] seat.

Here (post #5) is a helpful comment about cushion "sling."

    Smile

You guys talking about the option of the Stimulite Contoured cushion sling reminded me that I need to ask my seating specialist if he still has my manual wheelchair information on file. I had purchased my manual wheelchair through a company in Lebanon, Oregon which was Santiam Medical Equipment that has since gone out of business. They had gotten the chair through Care Medical though.

My current DME dealer had ordered parts over the years for my manual wheelchair ever since I've been working with them. So, I know that either in their computer system, or in my huge medical file that they have. I know that they have the information on my manual wheelchair (serial number, what size, make, and model it is, etc.)

Thanks everyone for reminding me. I can't wait for my new cushion to get here still. It shouldn't be long now. I'll be like a kid at Christmas opening their Christmas present with excitement when I finally get it.
