Roman Reed vetoed. Organize for the next battle

Many of you may already know, but Governor Jerry Brown vetoed the Roman Reed law on Monday (or Tuesday in Japan).

We now need to take what we learned and organize more for the next battle to cure paralysis. I urge those who aren't already doing other things (or even if you are) to sign up for CureCaptains to make sure we are organized the next time around be it in California, or Minnesota, Sydney, London, or Brazil.
All the information can be found at www.but.ly/curecaptain

This is very disappointing. The governor says he doesn't want to load more cost on traffic tickets. In California if person gets 4 moving violations in a year they can lose their license, so the burden on a individual is nothing or in worst case $4. I feel that's not enough, personally. I'm just disappointed

You did a good job tho, thanks for keeping us updated.

Does anyone know if they have a similar Bill in NY? If not, the elections for state senate is coming up soon and one of the candidate's office is around my block. I would like to ask him if he would support a similar bill before I vote.

So, Alabama cares more about SCI research than California. Who would have guessed? See the TJ Atchison Spinal Cord Injury Research. http://www.cbs42.com/content/health/...pkGU3_h2w.cspx

Also, Florida has the Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Program (BSCIP) which is funded by fines. See http://www.doh.state.fl.us/demo/brainsc/index.html

Speeders have friends in high places in California.

Because of the Dems' noted hatred of big government? Or their notorious opposition to stem cell research on the basis of ancient superstition? Or their hatred of cripples, best evidenced by Democrat Ted Kennedy's campaign against the ADA?

I know most sci's have room temperature IQs, but the above post is evidence that the Founders were right - the masses should not be allowed to vote.

The eight other states that have measures for programs like this are: Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, South Carolina, and Alabama. California would have been the 9th.

There may be more, but these popped up when I searched. Now, I'm not saying the funds are used for research, but they are used to help care for SCIs and are funded from traffic fines.
