Another one? I don't like to watch replays! Prayers, thoughts, wishes, etc!

Yes, Devon Walker. Broken neck and collapsed lung.

The paramedics probably injured his spine further with CPR, which was unavoidable because he stopped breathing.

My son quit playing high school football two years ago and though I played and loved it; I am so happy he did. I am praying for this young man and his family.

God I hate it when the younguns get injured. Kind of takes the breath right out of a person.

An update. They are not saying much about paralysis.

They are waiting the 48-72 hrs to see what happens. The team doctor says it over and over again.

I think they have learned from other injuries that it is better to wait and see before releasing info to the public.

Sports Ed people need to know that rescue breathing not compressions are needed. If one holds the neck underneath in one position while another preforms the breathing this should not cause more injury. Compressions would have also made the loss of oxygen worse with a collapsed lung.

They should also have a chilled IV bag of saline around...
Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow."

Later reports say there was no collapsed lung.
