What is your level of injury?

Do you need a self propel chair or one that a caregiver pushes?

    What have you been using?

    All the best,

    (which witch):

Where do you plan to use it? Tub? Stall shower? Roll-in shower?

Do you need to use it for travel also?

Do you need to also use is as a commode (for bowel care)??

    HELP! Buying shower chair/commode.

I'm currently shopping for a new shower chair/commode. I previously had a shower transfer bench (no cut out) and a seperate commode.

I'm now looking to consolidate into one but need some opionions because I'm not 100% sure which way to go.

Is a padded chair neccessary? The ones I have now are and I understand that padded is better to prevent pressure sores but I feel that sitting on it for 1/2 hr or less while I shower shouldn't really cause a sore but than again not 100% sure i'm right about that.

I'm a T-6/T-7 if that helps with opinions.

    Thanks!

Definitely go with a commode/shower chair with padding. If you plan to travel, you may want to consider a folding chair. Here are some sources to get a good look at a number of chairs in a range of prices:

This is similar to the one that I use in my shower. I love it.

In addition to the ActiveAid, I would recommend looking at both Nuprodx and Raz Designs.
