    Depression and suicide lines........

Well I checked the thread here and called a few numbers for them and basicly all I got was go to the hospital or call 911.
Then I called one for people who cant afford the care and got a local number for the facility , called them and they are not a Medicare provider..

So no help for me from them.. I then called my reg Dr office to see if I could get in touch with the Dr to see if she would recomend what to do and got the answering service which asked if it was an emergency and told him I would like to get a message to the Dr .. His responce " Call back monday reg hours and get an appointment...

I do not want to hit the hospital because the local hospital is the same that I got bedsores in and no help from . And I dont want to take the chance of them trying to admit me ...

I guess I will or hope I will tough it out till Monday..

thank you for reaching out here. :/ it sucks that you cannot get any help locally and i understand your fear of getting a pressure sore from the hospital

pain is such a monster that seemingly, i feel, tries to take away your humanity and it often feels as if people, especially drs, don't want to take it seriously.

vent here if you need to!

Try to hang tight Gary. I am sorry you're getting a run around.

Gary, I am appalled that you can't get the help you need. My thoughts are with you, hope you can either get relief from another hospital or hang on until the doctor's office opens - inexcusable situation!

I've never tried them yet, but I came across looking for an online suicide chat. I have severe phone anxiety so I've never been able to call a suicide hotline. I've had similar experiences where the hospital doesn't help. You either get admitted (which can be no help or make things worse sometimes) or given an anxiety pill and sent home. One I was IP with a man who was there purely because his pain had him suicidal. They had a pain management specialist come see him in the hospital and got his pain somewhat under control before discharge. Unfortunately when I was in a similar situation I didn't receive the same, so I don't know how often that happens.

Theres a website with a chat at and there are often people in there all night long. I go there when I'm having a really bad night and need to speak to someone or just distract myself by helping others.

Hang in there. I'm an insomniac if you ever want to talk. I use trillian to connect to aim, yahoo, and msn. There are people who care.

If anyone can help in the meantime, it would be here. We've been thru it and still go thru it.

We're here if you need to talk and will stay with you as long as needed. If you need to talk, I'll send my Ph.# via pm.

It's gonna be 39 yrs post injury for me on Monday. I still get those days when I feel it's just too much to bear anymore. Thankfully, thru counseling, I've learned it's part of the cycle and postpone any desperate measures that I am entertaining at the moment.

We have a Seritonin uptake defincency due to the SCI. It's not always a matter of Phychological challenge as it is a physiological challenge. I know right away when I haven't been taking my Wellbutrin. Sounds like you are on top of it.

Stay tough Gary, you're worth it.
