    Question Hip Abduction grabbing muscles!

I"ve been doing this exercise 21 yrs no problem. I hired a new pca that was having difficulty doing it. She worked a month & never got the hang of it. Not sure it was her but every time we pull it out it grabs!
I lay on my back, aide by side of bed, hand on knee & other hand supporting foot. She presses on knee to keep it down, walks backwards stretching the leg out till we make an L. But it's grabbing! The tendon that stretches when you do the splits grabs.
I called by pt & he said it's the hip abduction exercise. To do another exercise to help stretch it. To bend knee up & rotate knee in & out. Should help. Getting worse!
So I thought frogging might help stretch it. Getting really worse!
Funny thing no other exercise bothers it at all! Not the knee bent forward, not rotating knee in & out, not frogging, not leg straight up.
Just pulling it out sidewards! Today the tendon grabbed, the thigh muscle quivered & the knee twitched!
But if you slowley stretch it it eventually goes all the way out with no problem. Which makes me think nothing serious is wrong.

    Any helpful thoughts? Thanks Mona
