Thread: Hoyer Advance lift battery

    Hoyer Advance lift battery

Our Hoyer Advanced lift acted up at the lake last week-end causing some chaos we got through. It was beeping and not holding a charge.
I called Sunrise Medical that was on the manual and cert of inspection, but they don't handle then and said Joern's did.
A kind man from Joern's explained we should have kept it charged and used once in a while, but battery probably needed changing anyway.
We normally use the ceiling lift at home.
Joern's told me the battery pack # is 400-3003 and suggested retail $249, but had to call DME. Local DME clueless so looked online.
They look similar in the $199.00-$209.00 range. I'm unsure if the right one.
    Any suggestions? Hoyer Advance-E.
    Thanks!

This is the one we just got for our hoyer advance, it will look like the original when you get it.

Holy crap. For that money I'd be tempted to have a look inside, if it's a lithium battery it might be possible to replace the cells inside if you know someone that's good at soldering. I would offer to take a look but you're the wrong side of the pond

It wouldn't surprise me if it's just a cheapo 7ah gel cell in a case.. seems to me 'specialist' equipment for disabled folk just means 'charge what you like'.

No, I didn't loose my mind... It got scared and ran away!!

    Thanks MSWIFE and SuprSi.
That is what was confusing to me, the ones on line did not look like the one we have.
I saw the link above and another one for $199.00.

    Same here.

I'd open it up and see whats inside.
There's no way i'd pay (or sell) a small battery like that for $250

Appears to be a pair of small 3.2AH sealed lead acid batteries. See specs in link:

Should cost about $20 each on the internet. Take it to a Batteries Plus store if you don't have the skills to take it apart and replace them. I can't imagine they would charge you more than $100.
