    My Permobil M300 3G is in the shop

    Last evening I started to raise the automatic foot/leg rests and a red warning light by the switches started flashing. Then an ICS "legs error 209A" appeared in the LCD. Everything but the leg rests still worked. This morning everything seemed screwed up and only worked intermittently. The tech checked all the easy stuff like wire connections but all seems well. He took it to the shop to start tearing it down. I only got the chair last August. I was disappointed to learn that the Intelligent Control System (ICS) is not very smart. The error code does not pinpoint the problem.

    In the meantime, I am back in my Quickie GT and my shoulders are already starting to scream. I will keep you posted.

    That's a bummer and I thought Permobil was supposed to be high quality. My favorite error code on my Quantum is "Error code #2. Please contact your vendor." That's a big help if I'm out cruising somewhere. Fortunately, I can clear it by turning the chair off and on. Hope they get to the bottom of your problem quickly.

    Do you have the R-Net joystick and electronics? Permobil admits there's a problem with the 7-8 cables in this system having a propensity to break because they were all made on the cheap (thinner than they should be). Permobil also told me they can't do anything about it because they outsource to PG Drives Technology (http://www.pgdt.com/) who makes their joysticks/cables, and PG won't fix it until they sell out of their existing inventory (even though they know there's a problem!).     Yes, I have the R-Net controller with the monochrome LCD. The wires and connections looked to be in excellent condition, but I guess there could still be a problem.

    That stinks 55. We know the frustration of having a newer chair act up and make the world come to a halt. I used to think Dave's was possessed.
    I hope you have it back ASAP.

    I'm back in the saddle again. I just got my wheelchair back from my DME tech. The problem was a defective sensor in the actuator that raises/lowers the legrests. The tech pulled one off a demo and got me operational asap. I will get the new one when it arrives from Permobil. I was down for only 36 hours. Service as service should be.

    A service tip: I made it known to both the DME and Permobil rep that I would be posting my experience with the wheelchair on the Internet where it would be viewed by thousands of wheelchair users, as well as rehab professionals, around the world. I highly recommend you use this approach upfront we dealing with vendors and reps. They know the possible consequences.

    For once things work as they should.

    I believe P&G controllers are not up to task. Way too many complaints and for for MTS, a cheap way to operate the Omegatrac. The original wheelchair manufacturer dumped P&G electronics because they did not work well and failed a lot. Replaced with
    Liber T and never failed in 7 years.

    Well I'm very pleased that you have posted your problem and how it was resolved because exactly the same thing started happening to my Permobil Corpus 500 today when I operated my leg rests. Basically, the button flashes red and then an little error code pops up. It's basically the same as yours, I think mine is 2092, but it certainly makes me think I have got the same problem, after all the chair is only six weeks old, it shouldn't have malfunctioned already. I've already had problems with the little bag clips, those stupid things just fell to pieces before I even use them, absolutely crap quality.

    Sure sounds like the problem I had. Based on what my tech said, I suspect they got a whole batch of legrest actuators. The tech said the chairs are not repair friendly. He had to take a whole bunch of stuff apart to change mine.
