    Talking hi I need your help

    I am an engineering student and I am going to do a project on a wheelchair brakes (( four bar linkage mechanism )) and I need the length of the four bar links of the brake on your wheelchair as shown in the fig.

    Daved, those are not wheelchair brakes. They wheel locks. Big difference.

    How about designing a lock with no linkage? Something simple and maintenance free and get away from the typical mounting hardware.

    thanks for this information Yes I mean wheelchair lock to do a simple analysis and calculation for position, velocity, and acceleration but i do not have the actual link length (( i mean the length between the 4 - bolts ))

    can you give me these length?

    Surely any lengths would work, different lengths would effect travel and leverage.

    The measurements on mine are

    25mm bottom link
    30mm lever
    35mm housing
    35mm right link

    the actual part that contacts the tyre moves only about 6-7mm

    Extra credit if you can identify why that is not a durable design.
