Constipation and no gas is causing hell

Hi, Ive had this problem for 4 years ish now. I nearly never pass wind, maybe once a day if im lucky, and thats not really properly. I also struggle to go to the loo. This started (I think) about 4 years ago, i couldnt eat and lost weight but got unblocked with 500ml of lactalose, 100 sacetes of movocol, a pack of suppositories and 3 enemas.

Then it happened again but over 3 years and i didnt realise. Over the first 2 months lost 2 stone and over the 3 years is still been falling off. Ive had no apatite and extreme abdo' pain in and out of hospital all the time.

The bowl specialist has always said there is nothing wrong, and the last time I saw him was a month ago and again he said the same thing. HOWEVER... A day later I had a scan through gynaecology and they did an operation for something else, but the surgeon said while i was under he removed 3 big blockages for me. They put me on lactalose and it still took 3 days to go, even though the surgeon helped. Ive been on it for a month but started to get completely blocked already. Im on 15ml, 3x a day and Iv been using suppositories but no use.

Im really worried now as it may lead back to loosing weight and extreme pain.

When I can go its hard or i have to physically remove it, then whats behind it is really soft. Its really strange as its right there, I can feel it and flick it out but it just wont come out on its own. Im far too young for this.

Please do you have any ideas as im getting fobbed off by Dr's and its ruining my life. Thanks

What is your level and completeness of spinal cord injury? It is not mentioned in your profile?

Add one Magnesium Citrate capsule per day, maybe two. It will help the colon absorb water and soften your stool. Magnesiumn Citrate works with the calcium you take in to go your bones instead of your arteries as plaque. You should also add a yogurt per day or probiotics to help balance your stomach flora. The Magnesium Citrate will cost you about 3-4$ per month.

    Dear magickrainbow,

Ding ding you have found bad medical personnel in America.

Are you on any medications, especially narcotics?

You really need to find a daily/ weekly bowel routine. This was one of the absolute CRITICAL Occupational items I had to master before being released from hospital inpatient recovery. I thought I had some Doctors and nurses that did not give a $hit but in your case you might have that problem literally. Try to find a good doctor that you can communicate with to get into a proper medical conversation with. It sounds like you get along with your GYN so ask for a referral doctor for bowel care. You will not always get along well with all doctors but find a conglomerate of physicians that listen to your issues and plot a course of good care.

Proper bladder and bowel care are very critical just to survive. Be more proactive in your own medical care. You will need to educate some doctors on SCI issues because they might know where the vertebrae is that you broke but will be clueless about secondary issues (osteoporosis, muscle atrophy, AD, Pain Management).

I would suggest Senna-S or Miralax but your issues are a whole lot bigger than take this pill and call me in the morning.
