    Lithium for Neurogenic Pain?

    Hi Y'all,

Just wondering if anyone else has tried the 12 week dose of Lithium for pain. I'm only a week into it, but haven't found much info on it (aside from a small study done in China- which reported a 35% reduction in pain).

What's intriguing is that this treatment is supposed to help heal the mis-firing nerves- permanently.

I'm coming up on 29 years post, and have tried just about EVERYTHING- morphine pump (worked for 8 years), Spinal Cord Stim (waste of time), Ketamine infusions, every oral med- Lyrica, Methadone, Oxycodone (30 mg x 3 day helped but killed my passions), Suboxone Patches, Fentanyl Patches, Sublingual Fentanyl, you get the picture

Like many of you, my pain has gotten progressively worse- but is localized in a specific area- skin level electrical/pins & needles shooting down my right leg/butt. I'm very realistic- a 30% reduction would be welcomed at this point.

I do recall hearing lithium can be used for neuro pain, but I don't recall hearing of anyone who tried it. There are some threads where it's mentioned here, but I didn't read them all. Here's one where Dejerine (a knowledgeable member here) speculates how it might help.
