    DR KAO AND DR.HUANG

    IF A PERSON HAD DR. KAO'S SURGERY 4 YRS. AGO, COULD THEY STILL HAVE DR. HUANG'S PROCEDURE??

    davidh - You need some continuous amount of spinal cord tissue across your injury site. It is preferred that you be neurologically stable but a syrinx is okay. No problems with previous surgeries. If anything, having been decompressed and any possible tetherings removed four years ago makes you a better candidate, IMO. However, Dr. Huang will now include those aspects in his surgery going forward, for those who need them.
