Years ago, in this thread
http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/showthread.php?t=20974
there was discussion of U.S. Biodefense, a California company
who was trying to take an Open Source approach to Stem Cell
research.

I am an unemployed and experienced Software Engineer
living in Massachusetts. The person I love most is paraplegic,
and it would be really great if I could find a way to use my
skills to help people with Spinal Cord Injury, and also earn a living,
preferably without having to relocate.

Unfortunately, most of the ways to help that I know about
require Mechanical Engineering or Biology/Medicine,
which are not talents that I have.

So, does anyone know what happened to U.S. Biodefense?
Is anyone else working on this kind of thing?

The name these days seems to have more to do with defense
against biological attack
http://www.fas.org/bwc/usbiodefense.htm
which is not what I am looking for.

Thanks,

Mary-Anne
