This has been answered in the posts already.

    1. The cost of immunosuppressive drugs in China is extremely high.
    2. The patients in general seem to cope fine without it.

    Best,

It would be interesting though to see what happens with Immunosuppression, perhaps the results would be even better.

I am also very curious about this. I'd be nervous taking immune suppression anywhere but overseas it may be asking for some serious trouble. Just imagine what kind of bugs you could pick up when your immune system isn't functioning very well.

Having said that, if it has a good chance to really help I'd probably take that risk.

Jevans, please read Jeff's thread entitled My notes from Dr. Huang's lecturesin its entirety.

    In it he said:

Why not use cyclosporine? The cost of the drug cyclosporine is very high in China. It's more expensive than the cost of the surgery. After doing the first batch of thirty or forty patients, the noticed that the recovery seemed to be ongoing. This indicated that the cells were engrafting into the host tissues and not being rejected. Also, the use of cyclosporine would increase the chance for infection fom the surgery.
