    something running in back ground?

    about every 14 seconds the circle thing by the mouse pointer will run for 5 seconds. any idea what could be causing this?

    open you task manager and what what process it is

    right click on your task bar click on start task manager

    the task manager tells you whats running
    also check out applications tab and services tab

    it also could be a program that utilities low processors for updates
    or your disk drive running disk defrager in the background
    or your virus program checking files in the background
    or if you have disk compression, it could be doing that in the background
    or or or, etc etc but it should be listed in task manager
