Thread: Nerve pain is getting worse

Hey Cowboy, if you are considering suicide, I pray you talk to someone local about your feelings. It is hard from the internet to know how urgent something like that is, but if you are all all serious, it is good to talk over this with someone close to you, a family member, clergy, psychologist, friend......

I use to smoke marijuana to help with my spasms, it work good from them. As far as relief of pain goes, it didn't help, but put a smile on my face.
The same time I come down with this abdomen pain, smoking makes my pain worse now, something got crossed over in my brain for that to happen.

    Pain

I had the Drez in 1989 it worked but now all these years later it is slowly coming back... Please consider calling Dr Falci and ask to speak with Charlotte. The Drez might work for you.

I too am in constant pain my legs are always on fire stinging me 24/7
The way i manage it is by keeping myself occupied and a false belief that somehow my legs are still alive.
As for termination thoughts i don't want to be remembered as a giver up but but as pitbull of a fighter.

Don't worry I'm not going to take the plunge, I love my family, friends to much to put them though that I just think about it sometimes when things get real bad..
Im going in Thursday to see the Dr. who's been trying to help me with this pain for the last two years unfortunately she's moving out of state so it will be the last visit. She is a physical medicine and rehabilitation doc and is supposed to be trying to set me up with a Dr. In the same facility. .

Anyone have suggestions/opinions on if I should be asking for any other type of Dr.?
BTW lately she's had me on Gabapentin but it hasn't worked at all and I've read on here where Lyrica and Effexor haven't worked for others so any suggestions on what I might ask her to prescribe as a going away present. .
O and the marijuana wouldn't work for me either the last time I tried it 30 years ago in high school it just made me paranoid. . Acupuncture is something I'm thinking about looking into though however a lot depends on cost as with most everything. .

Thank you all for your concerns about my well being and I hope each if you are able to find some relief..

Meds help.

Do you see a pain specialist?
I can not socialize 1-2hr during the day, and can not have a conversation w/someone after 4pm. It hurts so bad talking or eating.
4pm or later I'm on my computer doing stuff to take my mind off the pain. Luckily I have an apartment of my parents house so I can always count on them when it's lonely

Have you tried any of the 'usual suspect' drugs used for central pain [gabapentin, Lyrica, amitryptaline, etc.]?

Rectum pain does suck. I usually have it every other day. The bowel program is bad for me too, every dig stem makes the pain spike.
75% of the time I can get all bathed/dressed and then take an 1hr nap and it will go away, sometimes I can do it in afternoon also

Snider-cowboy OMG!!! I thought i was the odd duck..(so does my doctor) I have almost a mirror story been thru all the same things to "find out whats wrong" but for several years and MANY nerve blocks zero relief.. I sit with a heating pad on my side 7-days a week while watching Tv I keep those thermo care heat pads on my side during the day when away from home tried fentynal patches and and and now I just hope someday someone figures out why it feels like someone is tearing my burning, tense guts out of my body..

That's my life - can't exercise, as little moving as possible.
