Has anyone heard about potential changes to SGA levels? The last time I spoke with a Social Security representative, he mentioned that there has been talk about modifying SGA. He said that changes may soon be made which affect how going above SGA levels will affect your monthly SSDI benefit. He said that if for every $2 you are above SGA, your benefit will be reduced by $1. So, for example, if you make $2000 in a month, your benefit will be reduced $500, as you are $1000 above SGA. I think this would be wonderful and just makes sense. Why in the world should your benefits stop completely if you are $1 over SGA??? I certainly hope this gets put into place sometime soon.
