Youch... Even for a bumper-carrier, you'd need a hitch with a 300lb tongue weight capability. That's a lot of changes to the suspension of the vehicle too. Sweet idea but... Too heavy for me to transport. At least without a trailer. Plus no mention of range capabilities... Would be nice to know if you're going on a 5 mile hike if you're going to run out of power half way through.

Distance is terrain related. Steep hills take a lot of gusto. Depending upon the number and slope of the hills, I think that I could travel between 12 and 17 miles with two motors turning the drive wheels on my X-5. If I lived in Florida, 20 miles.

Weight of driver also contributes. There are more powerfull batteries than the Group 24, 73 amp/h ones most large chairs come with. The 27's are 86 amp/h and go further.

Have you tried the Ranger Yukon? I have the Omegatrac as primary.

Also, my one of my Omegatracs has the main wheels an inch spacer so the chair is really stable sideways on hills. Do you know about these? I would like to put them on another Omegatrac.

    thanks

No, the Ranger chairs are built in Canada and are not yet available in the US.

If I had to go rear wheel drive, the Yukon would get a serious look.

I have not heard of the spacers but you can get dulies on the front. Side hills be dammed.
