    Olfactory Mucosa Transplant in Portugal

In the article linked below I summarized my experiences in Lisbon, Portugal undergoing an experimental surgery performed by Dr. Carlos Lima and his team. I wanted to share my story so that others can benefit from my knowledge. Feel free to ask questions.

    remember....

Lookit. You're a hero and a champion. Both to yourself and what you've done for our community. What level are you? Can you stand in braces? If you don't have braces, then find a friend and get that person to FIND A WAY to weight bare. you MUST bear weight.

The surgery you had very well may help you. After all, it has worked on several of Dr. Lima's patients. But to gain ANYTHING, you're gonna have to work out like a professional athlete...4 hours a day. Stim units are cheap. Stim/Stand/Stim/Stand. Wanna try something more? acupuncture, biofeedback, qigong meditation, Yoga. Exhaust all those options before you try surgery again.

No way I would consider this. The state of the hospital leaves far too much to be desired! Whatever the benefits of the operation, general sepsis or worse seems a poor trade.

Reading your article has made me sad and angry. desperation has super seeded wisdom
Susan Fajt had also posted about her experience with the Lima therapy
one thing comes to my mind about all stem cell treatments is the simple fact that selling unproven therapy immediately relegates you to unprofessional and a money grabber. however i sincerely thank you for sharing your experience others i know of have first built a hype of false expectations then ceased to post.

+1 on seeing others build a hype of false expectations then ceasing to post

Honestly, it's sad but I must admit I find a little twisted humor in it, like: "see, we tried to tell you so"

"what???? , you don't 'all' wear a poop sac?.... DAMNIT BONNIE, YOU LIED TO ME ABOUT THE POOP SAC!!!! "

Lunasicc 42 it is through these experiences that we can form an opinion about going for this type of therapy. i encourage sincere experiences. Sadly the internet has been hijacked and flooded with service provider propaganda and their surrogate patient testimonials. The X-cell center had literally taken over all stem cell sites. i too was once drawn into this trap.

This is largely due to the continuing stuffy, negative attitude of conventional medical wisdom, whatever that may be. So many sufferers see no evidence of any interest from their medical service that they feel they just have to try alternatives.

Should anybody expect to pay for treatment, particularly when they are effectively a guinea pig? I think not.
