Well that was certainly nice of that Police officer.

Long ago before I got plates I fogot to put my placard up in a Target Parking lot and got a ticket.
I contested it and went before a hearing officer. Obviously, it was waived, but I did have to pay a $5 service/filing fee.

Never forgotten mine. Sign says you will be fined, but I have never seen it happen.

I am always thinking I will forget. Probably will now.

Part of the reason the placards fall apart is because of constant exposure to the sun. I have a plate now, specifically because the placard couldn't survive 5 years of being in the sun everyday.

In my state, you get a placard and a plate, which is great. When I travel, I can park my car in a permit spot at the airport, and take my placard with me and use it in the rental car.

In Minnesota one can get multiple plates and a placard. I have plates on both my cars and a placard for travel/friends' cars. I agree having both is great.

Every time I forget to put my card up, I get a ticket. So I have to go to the courthouse, show them my card and they void out the ticket. It's a bit of a hassle, I'm just happy I don't have to pay a fine.
