here is what i can do:

grip a bottle of water and beer
    light w/ a stove n smoke a cigarette
eat by myself w/ a cuff
    brush teeth
wash face w/ wet wash cloth
    type on a keyboard
    pick my nose and ears
    scratch my nose/head/neck
operate an iphone / tv remote
put a blootooth headset in your ear
open a can of redbull w/ my teeth
write w/ a special pen - although it looks like crap

    my goals:
empty my own urine bag in my manual chair
    fix something to eat
    drive

    and i'll be golden

Alan, be careful of being too harsh on yourself. You might or might not be able to do the above list, but pain can be limiting and I know you have more than your share of it.

Sweet of you Eileen. I agree pain can stop the best of us from accomplishing things. Be sure and smell the roses. I don't do much except love those near me. Lots more time to do that than there was before.

I haven't done any of the above for 1 year after the accident, i felt depressed and sorry for myself. Thhen I said screw it... I'm trying to be as independent as I can, this guy was my inspiration.
