Groundbreaking Results Demonstrate Proof of Concept

InVivo has demonstrated the proof of concept for its SCI therapy in primate and rodent animal models. The company is the first in history to successfully demonstrate functional improvement in a paralyzed non-human primate and believes this model is the best surrogate for how the products will work in humans. Research from this landmark study(Journal of Neuroscience Methods, 188 (2010) 258-269) received the 2011 Apple Award recognizing excellence in SCI research from the American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA).
Seminal Rodent Study – 2002 Results from the scaffold configured to treat SCI showed functional locomotive improvement as early as two weeks post-injury. Subjects demonstrated sustainable functional recovery and no adverse pathological reactions to the product.
Non-Human Primate Studies – 2008 through 2010 Behavioral scoring was performed along with collection of EMG and kinematic data. On average, all treated animals demonstrated an improved level of functional recovery compared to the control animals.

I would imagine. At W2W, Reynolds said that they're a few
years away from chronic clinical trials.

No, it's NOT an acute vs. chronic situation.

Frank Reynolds explains in the video that they are taking the acute technology into chronic patients...hence the partnership with Miami Project for the cell delivery. They now have developed 4 different technologies.
The hydrogel is injectable for both cell and drugs, the scaffold method will have scar removed then the scaffold implanted. Depending on the injury, they will have a product for different injuries depending on what the physican calls for in the treatment plan.

Dr. Dietrich from Miami Project explains it here also. http://www.invivotherapeutics.com/affiliations/

I'm not trying to be discouraging, this is all fantastic news.
I just didn't hear anything much different, regarding chronics,
from what he said at W2W.

Speed the vid up to the 21:00 mark to hear him answer a
question specifically about chronic application. SOURCE

I'm sure that InVivo and Reynolds are working as fast as
they can to put a treatment on the market for everyone.
