Almost Got Ripped Off at Foxwoods

Long story so bear with me. *I took a quick ride down to Foxwoods Friday. *I only played blackjack for 2 hours but made $600. *The real interesting part was I caught a fat, black Haitian woman trying to steal a $25 chip from me. *She was sitting at "third base" just to the left of me and I just won a $50 hand. *The beverage waitress delivered my cranberry juice just as the dealer was paying out the table. *I slightly turned to the side to pay the waitress $2 and turned back to face the table saw that my $50 winning hand had only been paid $25. *I told the dealer she owed me another $25. *She said she paid me $50. *I said "well can you tell me where it is because I only see $25". *She said it's my responsibility to keep track of my money. *I said "OK, stop the game, I want to speak to the supervisor right now". *The fat, black Haitian next to me quickly said "here just take this" and she pushed a $25 chip in front of me. *I said "did you take that from me"? *She said no. *I then asked her why she would give me $25. *She said because " you wanted a supervisor". *I said "you stole that from me didn't you"? *She said no again. **I told her she was lying and she denied it again. *I called her a fucking bitch. *I stayed there and played and so did she. *She tried to make small talk afterwards but I wouldn't acknowledge her. *When I got home I called Foxwoods security and they said they would look into it. *I really should have just made a big stink at the table and got security involved then. *Really bums me out. *I never had anyone try to steal from me like that at a casino. *Usually everyone is cool. I don't know if she thought I was an easy target because I'm in a wheelchair or she would have done it to anyone sitting next to her.

So anyway, I called back Foxwoods casino security on Saturday to follow up with security about that fat black woman that tried to take my $25 chip. *The security supervisor said they reviewed the tape and claimed that I accidentally pushed the chip over to the fat, black woman when I turned around to pay the waitress and she must have thought it was hers. *Absolute bullshit. *The table I was playing at was not a lower HP table so the table height came up to my chin. *Therefore I *was unable to rest my hands on the felt and my hands were usually on my lap under the table. *I only put my hands on the table to place a bet or to collect chips from a winning hand. *Also, I hadn't even got paid off yet when the waitress came with my cranberry juice so I couldn't have pushed the chip over. *The security guy wouldn't change his mind so I had him connect me to the state cops there. *The state cop said he saw the film and he claims the dealer placed the two $25 chips between me and the fat, black woman and she must have taken it by mistake. *
****Now I got 2 different stories. *I said to the cop that she stole my money *and only returned it when I demanded to have a supervisor come to the table. *He claims since she returned it then it was not a "theft". *I told him that he didn't know what he was talking about because it doesn't matter if she returned it. *Returning the money is not a legal defense to theft. She knowingly took my $25 chip and did not intend to give it back to me until i confronted her and threatened to have a supervisor and video surveillance review the hand.
****Well he didn't like it that I told him he didn't know what he was talking about so he wasn't going to change his position either. *Unreal. *They protect these predatory scumbags and let the rest of us fend for ourselves. *It really took the fun out of winning some money. *I'm not even sure that they really saw the film. *I have zero confidence in the security of that place now.
    ** *

Sorry this happened to you, but did it really make a difference that it was a "fat black lady" as opposed to any other thief?

I live in Vegas and I agree a thief can come in all shapes and sizes. Having said that I have seen some really cute tricks tried here and most of them get caught. It's to bad your only gambling choices may be the totally unregulated Indian casinos.

They don't catch everyone but here in town the casinos and the Nevada Gaming Commission are highly regulated and really frown on any kind of cheating.

Yes it does make a difference if I was to describe her to anyone (which I did to security) she was best described as a fat black lady. Plus she disgusted me. I described myself to security also as a 58 year old white guy in a wheelchair with gray hair, glasses, a white polo shirt with stripes and blue jeans.

Darty, Foxwoods is regulated by the Mashentucket Pequot Tribal Gaming Commission. Kind of like the fox guarding the henhouse.

For the purpose of this story the persons size or color does not matter at all. To relate this story to us there is no reason to describe the person other than the person beside me or the woman beside me. Once you get past that it could seem to be a prejudice involved. Telling security you have a need to describe the person telling us there is no need. You may have just related it to us the way you did security but some people may read something into that or at least find it suspect...know what I mean...

Djrolling, I know what you mean. I suppose she just pissed me off to the point where I was ready to rip into her about anything. It still bugs me.

makes no sense. your bet is in the bet circle, and when u win the dealer places your winning chips besides your bet, in the circle...

and yea, you can hit your chips when u turn, but not the chips you just won and havent touched yet, cause as what i said above the bet circle is not near the edge , its about half way between you and the dealer

You right roc. Not only that but when you do win a hand the dealer pays you off with chips placed just to the left of your betting circle. So why did the.....ahem....lovely lady to my left pick up a $25 chip to her RIGHT? She was no rookie either I could tell she knew how to play.....and steal.

My point exactly no regulation a good place to stay away from. I know people who have hit a large jackpot and not been paid.
