Thread: Second question to Rick Hansen Foundation

Second question to Rick Hansen Foundation

I know that many of you have already sent off another question to the Rick Hansen Foundation after the response you got, but I think it's better that we keep things as a group.

Therefore I have prepared another question just like before and you can send it off in a minute. Please pass this along to your friends and colleagues.

We shouldn't just ignore the response, we should ask again as a group.

I sent the question in again. I just wanted the one simple question answered. (It's not even a tough question to answer if just one person at RHI would look it up.) I'm hoping to get the answer instead of the old "robo response button".

Not sure why you guys are jumping on Rick the way you are. Every Foundation is like this, why should the RHF be any different. Have you tried getting any concrete answers from any other foundation like the CRF or Nick Bonocontis fundation, Mike Utleys. They are all the same. It's why I don';t donate to any of these foundations; it just goes to keep operating and paying the big bucks to the executives.

Pat, I suspicion you are correct. I think ALL foundations should be able to answer the question when contributors send them money. I do not wish to crucify any particular foundation until I'm able to get the simple question answered. Any one of them should be able to answer the question if it is asked from one of their contributors so you know what percentage of your dollar is going to cure SCI.

    The question is:
What percentage of funds from RHF go directly to a cure for spinal cord injury?

Actually I wanted to address all the main SCI orgs simultaneously, but it's too much work.

Then I have also to say that CDRF has been a little better replying to emails etc. so far (I am ready to go with them actually, but I may wait after the vacation period)
Anyway one at a time I think we have the right to ask questions and to have clear answers just like they ask for donations.

Isn't most of this information public record if they are a 501c3 non profit? you can see the financials for CDRF on their site.

Sounds like the prudent thing to do is to ask the questions before donating. If we don't donate; do we still have the right to ask what they do with their money?
