Hit & run of a quadriplegic

    http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/9766225/

someone hit a local quadriplegic and left him for dead on the side of the road. Unbelievable.

It has been a bad week for quads. Getting kicked off of planes and left for dead.
I'm still upset about that poor kid getting kicked off of the plane like that.
What was more disgusting were the comments of ignorance people wrote after the articles. I hate to think there are people out there that think anyone with any disability is unworthy to fly.

I am not even going to read the comments.....

The level of people's ignorance is staggering.

What a sad place the world has become. My road is just as bad. I don't walk my dogs because of idiots who can't drive.

Like DD, I can never read the comments either. Too upsetting to find out that there is such ignorance in the world, or at least to have it confirmed, as I suspect I pretty much know there is despite my denial.

Comments are heavily moderated by WRAL staffers. Tragic news indeed.

At least he had the right of way and who ever is the hit and runner, he or she knows what they did and they will have tp answer some day.

This is a sad story, but a life reality of the dangers involved. I hope at least he gets a new wheel chair a real nice one.

I meant on the sites about the quad getting kicked off of the plane-should have been more specific. Those comments were nasty.

Government treats the disabled like garbage. Society echos it. I'm convinced.

Here's one comment from that story:

this is sad, especially considering it was a hit and run but the guy doesnt have to pay registration or taxes on that wheel chair so why should he have the same rights on the road?

In the story, the police said he was in the proper position off the roadway so it wasn't his fault.
