    Multitreck Wheelchair

Neat... has a FREEWHEEL type device!

    "How does it work?
    The Leg
The user does not need to get out of the chair to extend the front leg. The user simply unlatches the leg, tensions the elastic cord and does a small wheel stand. The leg swings out and is then locked in place by the user. The whole process only takes a few seconds. To put the extension leg away it is simply a reverse of the sequence.

    The Tracking
The tracking mechanism is a spring loaded catch that holds the large extension leg caster in line. If the user is travelling on a surface that has no side slope the wheel is held dead straight, however most roads and paths have side slope! The unique design of the Multitreck tracking system allows this side slope to be compensated for by a small change of angle on the front caster lock. The end result is the user tracks along in a straight, line even with a side slope. You push and glide rather than push and break!

    Disengaging the Tracking
To disengage the tracking mechanism the user simply pushes harder on one push rim than the other. When the Multitreck wheelchair returns to straight track again the front wheel locks back into the tracking mechanism."

    The Multitreck is CF

I wonder how the weight compares to a ZRA with a FREEWHEEL? Probably similar.

Probably not, patenting things is expensive enough. Getting foreign patents even more so.

On a side note, I just got my freewheel a couple days ago. It frickin rocks.
