What is the type and capacity of the battery for the chair?
Thanks, the platform supports Nimh batteries for 10-12 mile range or lithium (LiPo) batteries for 20-24 mile range. The actual range will increase or decrease depending on operating speed and temperature.

We wish you luck in obtaining the funding that will allow the further development of good ideas like yours. Every person with new ideas give me tremendous confidence that right around the corner somewhere, there is a new idea or invention that will significantly change our lives for the better.

Far better it is to try mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure. Than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much or suffer much, because they live in the grey twilight that knows neither victory or defeat.

Thanks, there are still significant challenges and not all of them are technological but I am seeing progress.

You can find a slide show of some of the Segway based solutions I've developed for clients over the years at www.pongtech.com (post-polio syndrome, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, etc.). Most of the people I worked with were looking for a scooter upgrade rather than a wheelchair replacement.
