I was watching a show on PBS last weekend (Michigan Out of Doors) and they were showing a propane powered crossbow that uses the gas to cock and then it can also recycle the gas if you don't use the bolt.

I didn't get the company but it seemed pretty neat and easy to use.

Most likely the Parker Concorde. Wonderful crossbow but pricier than what Shaun wants. It'll be my next crossbow when I can afford it.

I got an excellent used Tenpoint with acudraw, 6 bolts & tips, hard case, quiver, the works for $400. on Craigslist. New is not always better!

ten point, excalibur, horton, etc., i believe they all have some type of hand-cranking cocking device.

I don't know how to post a link but you can google Craigslist and pick an area near you, don't know if they are in Canada or just a states thing. I see crossbows listed every couple weeks and could let you know that way?

I have fairly good use of my hands but still trying to cock a 175 lb crossbow is a challenage for even able body people. I am like a few here and have a friend cock it for me on my way out of town. I have however put the foot strap/handle over the trailer hitch ball on my trucks bumper and with the use of the rope cocking device cocked mine a couple of times. It was not easy but it beat going home early. Oh and a word of advice Shaun when it says to keep your thumb or fingers out of the way of the string theres a reason as I found out the hard way. I would have cried from the pain if there had not been so many men around when it happened.
