    Unitine Forks

Ordering a set of unitine forks for my new ZR Series 2 but I'm not sure what the caster barrel to floor height is.

Is it just under 6" at the top of the caster cap, or just over 5 1/2" at the bottom of the caster cap.

    Thanks for your help.

I think it's 6". I don't think the caster cap factor into this.
Call Jill at Frog Legs and confirm this (800-922-2129).

Thanks Stephen 212, I called Jill and she said to measure from the bottom of tha caster cap.

Next on the list are brakes, going with the surelocks.

BTW, it's the same fork regardless of whether the measurement is 5.5" or 6.0" -- they only make one size. The difference is which hole (top or bottom) the caster is positioned.

FL Unitine forks for a ZRA S2

[QUOTE=Purple Haze;1341255]Thanks Stephen 212, I called Jill and she said to measure from the bottom of tha caster cap.

Will you let me know exactly what caster forks you have to order - which type of bearing, size of stem bolt and the height from floor. I'd also like to know how easy/difficult it is to swap the forks over from the standard TiLite slipstreams - and how to do it. Thanks.

Going from SlipStreams to UniTines should be a straight swap as long as you order the version having the two 2R8RS 1/2 inch id bearings incorporated into the fork itself. They will accept any FrogLegs caster up to 5" in diameter and almost any other caster < 5" that uses the industry standard 608 bearing (Well, the almost industry standard 608 bearing). Rollerblade/light up style casters may requires different spacers, but I believe you were looking to use 1.4" wide FLAHSR's on your chair.

They only make the double bearing UniTine in one size. The only difference is that the Quickie version uses 12mm id bearings. The whole caster barrel to floor thing has more to do with less-custom frame designs which rely on different fork sizes/stem bolt/spacer combination to attain a specific STF height. That is not the case with the ZR/ZRA Series 1 or 2.

You've probably already seen my comparison from last October...
