Thread: How to build a residential vertical lift?

How to build a residential vertical lift?

I looked at a lot of vertical lifts online and they are very expensive. I don't think it would be very hard to make one. Does anyone know how to make one? I only need to be lifted 18 inches to our platform to get in the house. I don't have room for a ramp.

    Thanks

I have been thinking about that. I have a friend that could build anything. I would enlist his help.

What about a used one off of ebay or kijiji? Or a van wheelchair lift, modified?

This is what I use to get to my basement from my garage. We took the wooden stairs out, put this in their place. Use a winch to pull it up, garage door track to guide it. 11 1/2 yrs on it s far without any problems.

That's a good idea Kris about converting a used lift from a van and somehow modify it to the house. Does everyone agree this will work? If so, any input?

    thanks
