Raising Blood Pressure after injury to prevent/reverse paralysis

I saw Gen. Hugh Shelton being interviewed on the Daily Show the other day. He had fallen 5 feet from a ladder and was paralyzed from C2 down. He was sent to Walter Reed Hospital where Dr. Laing (I think this is the name) raised his blood pressure - I guess to keep the blood flowing in his spinal cord. He attributes his complete recovery to this procedure shortly after his injury. Comments?

Hi Mary Jane. There was a thread recently where Dr. Young talked about that...very interesting. Here is a link.
