    Darvocet v.s (ULTRAM)Tramadol hcl 50mg

    Hello
I just receive my prescription of Tramadol 50mg about a week ago. I am to take 1 to 2 pills every 6 hrs are as needed for pain. So far the tramadol doesn't seem to be helping at all in fact i'm feeling worst with more pain and spasms in my hands, fore arms and legs. The cold weather isn't helping. The darvocet was great but the FDA has discontinue it.

Is anyone else having issues with this new change over or have any recommendation on different pain meds that may work better.
    Any info. would be welcome.

Tramadol really isn't that strong of a pain medication, especially when dealing with pain associated with SCI. That is just my opinion. Better options may be a form of hydrocodone such as Lortab or oxycodone such as Percocet. There are other stronger options if those don't help--higher doses of oxycontin without tylenol in it, fentanyl patches, etc.

You could also go another route with medications for neuropathic pain such as Lyrica or Neurontin. However, if the Darvocet was effective for your pain then Lortab or Percocet may provide similar results.

I've been given tramadol and it didn't work for me eather. I would agree that you should try loritabs or percocet.

Anyone know why the FDA discontinued darvocet? It's been around for awhile.

Here's news, none of the stuff is good for you ! This will leed to Doctors going "stronger" to find replacements that work.

The witchhunt to have Darvocet removed from the market was spearheaded by "Dr." Sydney Wolfe, a lackey for Ralph Nader. Sometime if you get a chance, dig into his history. It is interesting reading.
