    need suggestions

I love to read and I've ran out of books. I prefer series but I'll read most books. I love mysteries, fantasy, thrillers, and true crime. My favorite authors have been, Gorge RR Martin, Ann Rule, James Patterson and Stephine Myers.
If you haven't heard Of Gorge R.R Martin you MUST go get the series A Song of Ice and Fire .... But I warn you the series are addicting.. and he's still writing them.. any suggestions would be great....
It is not how we fall that defines us..
    It is how we rise.

Shana, you may find this site useful. Literature Map
Enter an author and authors that write similar books are grouped around the one you enter.

I guess you have read the Stieg Larsson triology. If not, they are good.

OK, some "series" type books that I have enjoyed:

    Steig Larsson:
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
The Girl Who Played with Fire
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest
    Sigrid Undset
    Kristin Lavransdatter: The Wreath
    Kristin Lavransdatter: The Wife
    Kristin Lavransdatter: The Cross
    Lisa See
Snow Flower and the Secret Fan
    Peony in Love
    Shanghai Girls
    Ken Follett
    Pillars of the Earth
    World Without End
    Stephanie Meyer (The Twilight Series)
    New Moon
    Breaking Dawn
    Gail Tsukiyama
    The Language of Threads
    Women of the Silk
    Patrick O'Brian
Aubrey/Maturin seafaring tales series (something like 21 books)

Pretty much all of Jodi Picoult's, Amy Tan's, John Irving's, Tony Hillerman's, Pat Conroy's, and John Grisham's books.

    For individual books:
    • Like Water for Elephants (Sara Gruen)
    • Three Cups of Tea (Greg Mortenson)
    • The Secret Life of Bees (Sue Monk)
    • Into Thin Air (John Krakauer)
    • Into the Wild (John Krakauer)
    • The Lobster Chronicles (Linda Greenlaw)
    • The Year of Magical Thinking (Joan Didion)
    • The Kiterunner (Khaled Hosseini)
    • A Thousand Splendid Suns (Khaled Hosseini)
    • The Dollmaker (Harriet Arnow)
    • A Reliable Wife (Robert) Goolrick
    • The Art of Racing in the Rain (Garth Stein)
You might want to check out a reader's website like for lots of book lists and reviews as well.

Excellent list KLD. I have read all of Linda Greenlaw's and both of the books by Krakauer and a few of the others.
I like non fiction best, but one of my all time favorite is "A Prayer for Owen Meany."

I'm checking out some of the ones on your list.

    The Ballantyne Novels
    - A Falcon Flies
