Went shed hunting last Friday, found 2. One from this year, and 1 from last year. We actually had the matching side from the one we found last year. So a small victory. We were hoping to find sheds of the bucks I posted, but they were still fully racked at 8am Friday morning, about 7hrs before we walked through...

I shot a browning automatic 30-06. The stags are hard to hunt because they often run with Sika deer and the Sika are very Spooky and tend to make the stags run too. It took a while to get on some, we were hunting on 2000 acres but we saw lots of game. Then when we got on a group of 6 stags and 2 sikas, 2 stags lined up broadside but I had to wait for the nice one in the back to step out. He finally did and the hunt was over. the other guys got Sika deer, axis deer, painted-desert rams, and hogs.

I wheeled by the ammunition wall at the Fleet store, it's around 35 feet long by a good 6 feet high. The only ammo there was shotgun shot, 8 boxes of slugs and 4 boxes of .22 long rifle, no center fire for any rifle or pistol. Normally you could get cases of any caliber and any brand at any time of the year.

Recently I read an article where the government bought up another 7,000,000 rounds of .30 caliber. Just say'n,,,,,you can't hunt with an empty gun!
From the time you were born till you ride in a hearse, there is nothing so bad that it couldn't be worse!

Got to watch out for the chain mail stuff. Homeland Security has been and continues buying large quantities of ammo for use in training, etc. They do not take ammo from the store shelves but rather solicit bids from manufacturers.

You can check some of the facts here:

I just got an e-mail from my brother in NY state. He attended a large sportsman's show yesterday and every vendor was selling out their guns, bullets, etc. That is a more likely cause of shortages.
