    Essential Tremors

I have experienced Essential Tremors (ET) for a number of years, even prior to SCI.

My hand ET is confined to my right, dominate, hand, mostly in my thumb, plus I have head nodding while reading.

I am taking Primidone and Clonozepan.

Anyone else have this condition? If so, are you treating it with drugs?

Have you been ruled out for Parkinson's?

    Essential tremors

I've had ET for about 6 years- just diagnosed 2 years ago. I take 2 of the Clonazepam (0.5mg) when I go out for dinner in public. It helps some, but not too great. Oddly, 2 or 3 beers or mixed drinks helps to, but not when using the Clonazepam!!! Although ET mimics Parkinson's in many ways, it is not the same. However, those with ET are 5 times more likely to eventually get Parkinson's.

Definitely needs to be handled by a neurologist and if not controlled can look for a movement disorder specialist.Primidone commonly prescribed now.Clonazepam has been used for a long time.
