I was talking to a doctor the other week about these trials. He said that he was talking to Wise about the different trials he has going on and asked if his daughter were to get a SCI which therapy would he want her to have, Wise said none of them.

I'm sure he was referring to other trials. If Wise didn't believe in this therapy, it wouldn't be going forward.

Yea, I don't know Dr Wise and am not taking up for him but I find that hard to believe.

I have nothing against Dr Wise. I am not trying to bad talk him in any way. I've been following this thread since 2011 anxiously waiting for results and the US trials to begin. I brought up Wise to Dr David Gator who has been chief of SCI departments, has been a part of many SCI trials and is now the chair at Hershey PM&R. I was thinking/hoping he would be interested in trying to bring these trials to Hershey PA. That's all he said about about Dr Wise. I was discouraged hearing that. Wise is working towards a cure but if his therapies aren't showing the results that he expects/wants at this point, then he probably wouldn't choose that for his daughter if that situation would ever occur.

Wills, you were simply repeating what someone told you, nothing at all wrong with that.

The results of the trial are far greater than expected. Participants went from complete to incomplete and can now do things independently.
This is what Wise has been working the past 40 years for. This isn't the 'cure' but a huge step forward.

Anyway, the use of Umbilical Cord Stem Cells seems to be a very relevant approach : http://med.stanford.edu/news/all-new...es-memory.html
