new prototype for third world countries

Discovery news has a video and article about a lever driven wheelchair made from old bike parts. it costs only 200 to make, and looks to work very well. I am not able to post the link and video. it is a trike pretty much. why do we have to pay five grand for a pos that is hard to manuver when they can be make for less. There is the rough rider too. It cost about 150 to make, and works very well. why does it have to be a third world county that benefits from a functional affordable chair?

and the new lever driven prototype. this one reminds me of my trike without the pedals and the handle bars. both chairs can get over rough terrain way better my quickie 2 which I only good for smoother surfaces. no one would be without a chair if they could make these here, however the same chair would be a ridiculous price. why is that?
