Insurance alternative after no longer working

I am a C4-5 quadriplegic. I have been working (postaccident) since 1995, but unfortunately with cutbacks may soon be unemployed. Presently I have primary insurance (Blue Cross and Blue Shield) and Medicare. If I do become unemployed I will lose the primary insurance. How do you go about finding something to supplement your Medicare? I'm assuming the need to have another insurance to pick up expenses Medicare may not cover. Any input would be appreciated.

There are Advantage plans and Medigap plans for supplementing your Medicare.
