My Dad's Van is falling apart! Help!

Does anyone one know where to apply for help in getting my dad a better van? His is falling apart. the lift is so old and my brother and i have patch fixed it. He can get in but not out by himself. Can anyone point me in the direction for help on this? his first loan isn't paid off and i would like to help but don't have much money.

    Van Trouble

Thanks, i'm trying. I don't seem to be able to get the big stuff tackled. I cook and clean each night after work so he can have something good to eat. It doesn't seem like enough. He has a c-5/c-6 SCI injury. He does pretty well and has a good attitude but the van is his legs in a sense. But the van thing will become a real issue here soon. My brother has been able to go to therapy with him but that will change so then i'm at work and my brother isn't there he's stuck at home till i can get out there. I wish i made more money. lol who doesn't right!

It would help if you give us some specifics about the van, such as age, mileage, make, is it converted for wheelchair users, and if so, who did the converstion, the problems, etc.

Being that he owes on the van, that will be problematic for a trade-in or outrught sale.

Some states have grants and/or low interest loans available for adaptive equipment and/or home modifications.

    More info on van

It would help if you give us some specifics about the van, such as age, mileage, make, is it converted for wheelchair users, and if so, who did the converstion, the problems, etc. - The van is a Ford 1993 converted so that my dad can drive in his wheelchair, the lift is a crowriver which isn't made anymore, we went to the shop and they won't even work on it, they say its too old. They don't have used lifts. I think it has 100,000 miles on the van.

Being that he owes on the van, that will be problematic for a trade-in or outrught sale.

Is your father a military Veteran? - No he was an electrician

I see lifts on eBay all the time, many at good prices. You might give it a look.
