My cable serivce could drop lots of dumb channels (ex. c-span, and c-span2) but I would be hot if they dropped food network.

Time Warner is dropping free access cable in NYC, Dallas and I forget the other metro area in February to FOX and...the NFL Playoffs channel. Said they refuse to pay higher station fees. Personally, Fox can leave and my husband might lose his Homer like gut. But the playoffs? That's just cruel. And while I love both the Food and Travel channels they need more funding.

    Hey Ken,

HDMI is short for High Definition Media Interface, I chose it because I have a high def TV. My receiver has a HDMI switcher and I was able to run an hdmi cable from the computer to it and I had the computer on the tv straight away.

If you wanted to use a coax output, I am not sure what your options are I looked on newegg.com (where I get all my computer toys) and couldn't find anything. There are quite a few graphics cards that have s-video out, which will connect to most any television. If you are interested in going down either route let me know and I can help with suggestions on what to get based on your TV and computer setup.
