the best thing about cell carriers now when you buy one you have 30 days if you don't like take it back you only pay for the time you used it. then you can keep doing it till you find the phone that is right for you.

You should check out Urbanspoon on the iPhone 3GS. It uses the GPS, 3 accelerometers and digital compass to overlay restaurant locations on live video (it's the 'Scope' mode, also known as Augmented Reality).

The first time I saw it I wanted to clamp my SPC just so I could pee myself in glee.

I hope the Droid takes off. The iPhone needs a real competitor to push the innovation level. But for now, the iPhone 3GS is incredibly mature and super quad-friendly.

I'll let the nerds beta-test the Droid for me...

    Bye bye Blackberry and iPhone

That's why they call them crackberries.

Like IM they are designed to cause addiction. Always amuses me how our CNS can be defeated by simple technology that it created in the first place.

Technology is designed to dumb people down if it would not be accepted by a sane person. There are 2 hypotheses. The partial seizure and the hypnosis. I am unhypnotizable and don't tolerate anticonvulsant medicine both of which I tried for pain. So MicroSoft and Apple can not con me. My Apple desktop has transition effects turned off.

Windows Mobile? Stick to cigarettes, they are better for your health.

The Blackberry idea is good in that it moves all complexity of IMAP off the battery powered hand held device and on to the server, but it is bad because it is proprietary. Bye bye Blackberry.

iPhone will suffer the same fate for the same reasons. It locks out users and developers.

Any new updates on if the droid is worth it still? I'm in the market for a new phone as well. The other question is when does a newer version of the droid debut? Thoughts

I would look at the Droid Eris and the Nexus One before purchasing a Droid. I am not sure of the release date for the Android 2.1 0S.

Droid Incredible is the new one coming out for verizon. Pretty much a Nexus One clone with HTC's sense ui and some minor differences.
I got a moto droid and I'm very happy with. Very customizable, fast and enjoying the multitasking. Plus if you are a little tech savvy you can root it and well do all kinds of crazy stuff to or with it.
Android 2.1 has been out for couple of weeks now on my phone and Incredible is gonna come with it installed.
