    Michaelm:

Are you talking about pop-ups, and are you looking for software to stop this?

This works on Macs, PC's, and anything:

I dunno if Safari can do it, but Mozilla can block pop-ups. I'm running Camino, a variant for OS X. (look for it on the bottom left)
As for blocking porn websites, resist the temptation to type "hot naked lolitas" into Google, and you'll be allright.

I am not sure how well it works because I never turned it on, but my netgear firewall/nat router has filters you could enable. This theoretically would block those websites to any computer (win, mac, linx,...) behind the router.

Check to see if your ISP offers this as a service. Some ISP's will have a proxy server you can go through that will block known porn sites.

There are worse things than PR0N. Java, Flash and JavaScript for example. I use http://noscript.net/ so I don't hurt myself. I also have nullflash.so written in plain old C updated so that that works in recent Mozilla. I am not a CPP programmer. If you have updated you Mac properly Java should be disabled in Safari. You can disable Java and Flash. I only have an actual Flash player in Chrome. You must have JavaScript enabled in Safari and Chrome as many sites still depend on it.

Many PR0N sites love popups and you can't close them. Very scary.
