What meds are they talking about? Clonidine? If they are already widely used and FDA approved, what could be the hold up on starting clinical trials? Any thoughts form anybody? Thanks.

Shameless. This sort of research with similar results has been around for quite some time and not much has come from it. Let's not lose sight of the fact that rats and even dogs can "locomote" by reflex, whereas humans cannot. The good Doctor says in a few years. That's not how science testing works, we don't jump from rodents to humans--egad. It would be great to cure paralysis--after 29 years I've had my fill---but really did anyone notice the poor rat being dragged on the treadmill? What are they going to do do drag some desperate paraplegic on a treadmill until he locomotes? I thought the whole thing was some kind of cruel, surreal satire.

I don't think you need to apologize, I found it pretty interesting. Just seems ridiculous to think of it as a cure, but it might be helpful the way an FES bike is to some people. As mentioned above I wonder what medications they inject.
