    Loved it.
    Cried.

    My mum read it to me when I was too young to read it myself. Then I read it and memorized it. Mum affectionately called me her "Max" all the time because I always caused a ruckus. I still have my old copy, all worn out and doggy-eared. I'll be reading it to my kids one day and hope they are little hell-raisers like I was.

    I agree that the film is a "beast of its own", if you will, but I found that it still managed to embody the innocence of the book exceptionally well, played out, of course, in its own special way.
