    ^^^^ What she said, lol.

replace Bill with Stephanie and it was right after my sci .....

Can't tell you about recovery time, as it was all mixed together w/ everything else. But it is certainly easy to care for.

the surgery for mine was on my 6yr anniversary.

it was the best thing i've done to increase independence.

it'll be weird @ first but you'll get over it quickly.

Best of luck. Take it easy for a few days and you should be on the way to healing. Let us know how you are doing.

I hope it all goes well for you!

I'm curious what are the pros for this? For me I transfer to my shower bench which I put over the toilet and then go. It's an easy transfer, easier then getting into a car. I have a T4 injury as well and it never occurred to me to have this done.

Andrew- if you are "happy" with the way your bowel program goes, then I would stay with it. Anytime you can avoid surgery, I would encourage you to. However, for some people, their bowel program is a huge inconvenience and takes well over an hour. They may be dependent on others due to their inability to lean over and insert a suppository or do dig stim. This is when I would say that you should consider a colostomy.

Mostly for me, I'm just so tired of constantly worrying about having an accident. When I do have an accident, it's humiliating.

I've had 4 accidents away from home in the past year. I know that doesn't seem like a lot, but it's 4 too many for me. Last time I was downtown with my daughter. Time before that was as I was driving home from a date (at least I was alone). Time before that was at the end of a date (I was with him when it happened ). And the time before that was when I was getting my hair done.
